High Quality Homes

Wesley Works Properties hired custom home builder, Erwin Forest Builders to construct these 22 townhomes. Erwin Forest is known for building some of the nicest homes in the Lehigh Valley and has a track record of award winning design and finishes. These homes will not only be built the right away, they will also use high-quality materials and finishes. Homeowners will be proud of where they live.

GOOD FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD

If there is one thing we know, it’s real estate in Emmaus. When we started designing each home, we made sure to blend the benefits of new construction with the character and charm of what has stood in the neighborhood for the past 80 to 100 years. We’ve added brick accents to match some of the oldest homes as well as high-quality vinyl to match other parts. Inside, at 1860sqft, the floor plans are considerably larger than the surrounding homes, but are not oversized, ensuring sustainable property values.

LOCAL SUPPORT

Wesley Works has demonstrated our willingness to do what’s best for the community time and time again with thousands of volunteer hours and over $250,000 in charitable giving throughout Emmaus, East Penn and the greater Lehigh Valley. Parkside at North St, is no different. For this entire project we have made labor and purchasing building materials, supplies, paint and appliances, from Emmaus and other local small businesses a top priority.

ABOUT

The Wesley Works name is recognized throughout the Lehigh Valley. We have been in business for over 30 years.

Our office is located at 500 Chestnut St, Emmaus in an iconic 1893 Victorian in the heart of downtown Emmaus.

When we chose to redevelop the 3 acre lot on North St, we had three very simple non-negotiables:

A high-quality build, a product that fits the character of the neighborhood and was good for the community at large.  These new homes for sale in Emmaus check all of those boxes.

The site of these new homes has a long and prosperous history as well.  It was first developed in 1919 with the construction of the Tremont Silk Mill in the north west corner of the site.

Surrounded by N 6th St, North St and N Moyer St which divided the entire property. In the lead up to WWII, Widder Brother Silk Mill purchased the existing building and expanded it to just over 57,000sqft. The mill produced silk for parachutes and cartridge bags for the war efforts. During the expansion, N Moyer St was closed in this block. A water tower was also added at 117 N 6th St and 2 green houses, unrelated to the mill where added near the eastern most property line. The site employed hundreds of Emmaus residents who proudly worked there during its time.

As demand for the silk mill declined, the business closed, briefly reopened as the Cumberland Silk Mill and then closed again. In 1978, the vacant building was bought by Rodale Inc, at the time, a rapidly growing publishing company dedicated to all around healthy living. The building was substantially renovated, and, among other publications, became home to Runners World and Bicycling Magazine. The renovated site featured unique architecture, creative use a light, open floor plans and the company gym. Rodale later adapted the building to function as its main photography and video recording studio. Like the silk mill, 554 North St, or “North St” as most Rodalians called it, proudly employed hundreds of Emmaus residents.

Rodale Inc was later purchased by Hearst Publishing in New York City and the Rodale Family sold its remaining buildings in town. The site was purchased by Wesley Works Properties in 2018 and (22) townhomes and a four-unit apartment were approved for construction in March 2020. We hope the new homes on this site, some of the first new homes for sale in Emmaus in over 30 years, bring as much pride to its owners as the past two generations of use did.
